Lucy
Lucy was very happy and well-loved in her new
home. She displayed no signs of fear until the
owner closed the curtains at night. She would
then howl in fear, which was very distressing
for her and her owner. Lucy explained to me that
when she had lived with her previous owners, she
had been tied up outside their caravan, linked
to the rings of a curtain pole, with 3 other dogs.
At night the owner would collect 2 at random,
and force them to hunt down underground burrows.
Lucy was too big for this role, and often became
stuck. She was frightened of being picked for
the nightly work. I was able to link with Lucy
and heal this horrible fear, in one session. Lucy
is now quite relaxed when the curtains are drawn
at night.
Owner Sue’s comments: “When Kerry
visited us, Lucy sat in her bed in the kitchen.
Kerry talked to Lucy and asked her about her fear.
After a while she gently told Lucy that she was
going to touch the curtains. From tensely focusing
on Kerry, Lucy slowly relaxed, lay down quietly
and closed her eyes. Since Kerry’s visit
Lucy’s fearful reaction to the curtains
has not returned. Thank you so much!!!”
Bridie
Bridie weaved constantly if left on her
own outside, or if left indoors without companionship.
She told me she had been taken from her mother
too early, and felt that everyone she loved was
taken from her. She had changed stables,
and lost friends. She also had a frightening
experience when living in a small, isolated stable,
which was broken into by local youths. It
took a number of sessions of Reiki and Communication
to help Bridie to understand that her “human”
was now here to stay. Bridie still needs
companionship, but is relaxed and happy with the
horses in her current, large yard.
Tex
Tex had been a racing greyhound, but
had retired early because he was too big. Tex
had a definite inferiority complex about his size,
and felt very big and clumsy in a normal family
home. He also reacted as if he had agoraphobia
when let off his lead outside. Tex told
me that when his human let him off his lead, he
felt overwhelmed by a huge sense of responsibility.
In his working life he had never been asked to
make decisions of any kind. I explained
that until he was happy with making decisions,
his human would remain in charge. If he
was let off his lead, he could just stay with
his human and walk alongside him. Tex is
now happy to walk calmly with his human and enjoy
his walks. As a reward he has also been
given the soft toys he craves, to play with.
Owner Steve’s comments: “Tex
is a lot more relaxed and confident . He
doesn’t panic any more. He remains
calm and walks by my side.
